NETGEAR (NASDAQ:NTGR) has partnered with Nokia Siemens Networks (NYSE:NOK) to certify that NETGEAR's Femtocell Voice Gateway is compatible with Nokia Siemens Networks' Femto Gateway. The combined solution will enable mobile operators to deliver high quality cellular phone coverage throughout the home and small office.

The Femto Home Access Solution from Nokia Siemens features open interfaces, boosting the femtocell ecosystem and enabling operators to further enhance their 3G service offering and coverage. NETGEAR's Femtocell Voice Gateway includes a comprehensive residential gateway with integrated ADSL2+ modem, router, 10/100 wired LAN switch, 802.11g wireless access point, VoIP, SPI double firewall, and private mobile network with 3G femtocell technology.

Together, the two gateways will make it possible for 3G operators to extend their coverage by eliminating indoor dead zones, extending broadband access to mobile devices, and unloading traffic from their base transceiver stations. Average revenue per user will also increase with service bundling.
