NuVox Announces New Firewall

The new network security application is designed for small businesses.

NuVox, a communications services provider in the Southeast and Midwest, has introduced a new network security product designed for small and midsize business customers. Provided through a Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO) -powered network combined with Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU), Nortel (NYSE:NT) and Sylantro technology, NuVox FireWall protects company data from external threats, monitors data traffic and provides all-day reporting from a user-friendly Web portal.

As a hosted service, FireWall features stateful inspection technology, a firewall that works dynamically at the network layer; gateway protection; content filtering; e-mail notifications of security breaches; and online administration and management tools without the need for additional hardware or software investment.
