Silicon Mountain to Launch Remote Backup
The service will be integrated with the company's server and storage products.
Silicon Mountain Holdings has entered into an agreement with a New Zealand-based specialized software developer to acquire intellectual property related to direct remote backup technology. Silicon Mountain will use this online storage utility to launch its own online remote backup service later this year.
"We plan to integrate this remote backup utility with a number of our server and storage product lines including our new line of Smart Media NAS appliances," Tre' Cates, CEO of Silicon Mountain, said in a statement. "The growing demand to access, share, protect and organize digital memories and assets such as music and video libraries as well as valuable business information, requires more than just a robust local back up solution."
