Parallels, Smart Online To Deliver Saas Development Kit
The new tools will help independent software vendors package software-as-a-service applications.
Parallels and Smart Online have teamed up to offer a suite of software development tools that will help independent software vendors (ISVs) rapidly package software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications for service providers that use Parallels solutions.
The Parallels SaaS Development Kit features comprehensive documentation and development tools, such as virtualization templates. It builds on the Application Packaging Standard (APS) to make it easier for service providers to offer SaaS applications using Parallels virtualization and automation solutions.
The APS is a key element of the Parallels Open Platform, which enables SaaS with Parallels virtualization and automation technology through integration with a range of third-party applications and systems.
"Through continued collaboration with the industry, Parallels is advancing a unified platform to help our customers and partners take advantage of SaaS with minimal effort and cost," Serguei Beloussov, CEO of Parallels, said in a statement. "Service providers and ISVs can use these development tools to offer a broad range of SaaS applications and grow their businesses."
