Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has unveiled the Windows Essential Server Solutions family of integrated products, built on Windows Server 2008, as well as the new Windows Small Business Server 2008, formerly known as Cougar.
The new products, designed and priced for small and midsize businesses, will be available in the second half of 2008. They integrate the technologies of Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, and other Microsoft products and services into reliable, easy-to-manage and scalable all-in-one solutions for e-mail, collaboration, PC and server management, and security.
Small Business Server 2008 provides increased security, simplified server and PC backup technologies, and one-year trial subscriptions to Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server Small Business Edition and the new Windows Live OneCare for Server. It also integrates with Microsoft Office Live Small Business to facilitate professional Web site management.
