Spare Backup to Expand Data Center
The move boosts storage capacity for home offices and small businesses.
Consumer, home office and small and midsize business data storage and security solutions provider, Spare Backup, has partnered with i/o Data Centers to expand the capacity of its Arizona facility to approximately eight petabytes by the end of the summer. The company also intends to add up to 16 petabytes of storage in i/o Data Centers' new Colorado facility before year end.
The Spare Backup flagship product is a totally automated online backup service that intelligently selects, secures and stores files without any user intervention. The agreement with i/o Data Centers will lower overall storage costs and provide energy-efficient mass storage for its customers.
"Our paid customer base continues to grow," Cery Perle, president and CEO of Spare Backup, said in a statement. "We believe these steps will provide our partners with the scalability needed to support their roadmaps and we anticipate the next six months will be pivotal for our company's growth."
