Eastman Kodak (NYSE:EK) has unveiled a new digital scanner designed and priced for small and midsize businesses. The compact Scanmate i1120 scanner quickly and easily transforms data from paper documents into usable digitized information.
Features include a built-in smart-touch functionality for intuitive basic scanning and the option to scan to e-mail, printers or other desktop applications in a range of file formats, including searchable PDFs. The scanner comes bundled with Nuance Scansoft Paperport 11 document management software, and Omnipage 15 software for converting digital images to digital information. Additionally, Newsoft Presto! BizCard5 software enables users to scan business cards, file them, and extract contact information to transfer to a database.
"This scanner offers Perfect Page Image Technology that can make scanned images look better than the originals, has the quickest scanning speed and is the only one in the category that handles document sizes ranging from business cards to long-length legal and loan documents," Tony Barbeau, director of scanner business, document imaging at Kodak's Graphic Communications Group, said in a statement.
