Tuesdays Tops With Employers
A new survey finds employees get the most done on the second day of the week.

COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLEAccording to a majority of employers, Tuesday is the most productive day of the week for employees, a recent survey found.
In a new poll of 150 senior executives by Accountemps, a Menlo Park, Calif.-based staffing firm, Tuesday garnered a 57 percent productivity rating, while Monday, Wednesday and Thursday were a distant second at roughly 12 percent each. Friday rated as the least productive.
Monday, which dropped from 26 percent in 2006, was identified by employers as a "catch-up" day after the weekend, where staff meetings often limited productivity.
"Many view Tuesday as an opportunity to focus their efforts and establish momentum for the rest of the week," Accountemps Chairman Max Messmer said.
To boost productivity during the rest of the week, employees should spend 15 minutes every day mapping out their goals, clustering tasks that are similar into the same time frame, and limiting distractions, according to Accountemps.
