Avistar Upgrades Videoconferencing Tool
The new software improves interoperability with room-based conferences.
Avistar Communications (NASDAQ:AVSR) has unveiled enhancements to its C3 desktop videoconferencing software for unified communications that improve interoperability with room-based videoconferencing solutions. This advanced capability is a result of a collaboration with RADVISION (NASDAQ:RVSN), a video network tools and infrastructure developer.
Avistar C3 now leverages the RADVISION SCOPIA multi-point control unit to provide advanced multi-party desktop videoconferencing and connectivity with third-party systems. The new software also supports H.323, a common standard for IP network audio and visual communications protocols.
"Combining the Avistar C3 solution with RADVISION's SCOPIA MCU provides advanced connectivity with room systems, extending the reach and versatility of C3. Our software can also take advantage of existing SCOPIA systems already deployed, leveraging previous IT investments," Stephen Epstein, chief marketing officer at Avistar, said in a statement.
