The SpectraLink 8002 phone is designed for small-business workplaces.
Polycom has introduced a new Wi-Fi phone designed and priced for small and midsize businesses. The SpectraLink 8002 Wireless Telephone allows users the freedom of being able to move around the workplace without missing an important call.
The new entry-level Wi-Fi handset offers enterprise-grade voice over wireless LAN and is designed to operate with Wi-Fi access points tailored to the small business market. It supports the open SIP VoIP protocol and is certified for interoperability with the SIP-based Digium Asterisk Business Edition IP PBX.
"We've spoken to a number of smaller-sized businesses in the past that were assessing the value of Wi-Fi phones in their offices," Ben Guderian, vice president of product management for Polycom's wireless business unit, said in a statement.
