JasperSoft, Microsoft Deliver Business Intelligence

The JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite is certified for Windows Server 2008.

Open-source business intelligence company, JasperSoft, is working with Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) to optimize the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite for Windows Server 2008. In addition, the company has unveiled its new JasperSoft ODBO Connect product, which enables Excel to be used as a front-end for the JasperAnalysis data analysis server.

The JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite has completed interoperability certification for Windows Server 2008, which will help developers and customers ensure that all applications meet the baseline technical bar for compatibility with Windows Server 2008. JasperSoft ODBO Connect, for example, integrates directly with Excel PivotTable reports to provide interactive access to the JasperAnalysis relational OLAP (online analytical processing) server. It is included at no additional charge to JasperAnalysis customers.

"More than 50 percent of open source applications deployed in the enterprise are running on Windows systems," Sam Ramji, senior director of platform technology strategy at Microsoft, said in a statement. "And more than 50 percent of OLAP deployments use Excel as the client interface, so we are pleased to be collaborating with JasperSoft to deliver optimized versions of the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite for both Microsoft's server and desktop platforms and applications."
