Verizon Boosts Internet Security
Fraud protection and a PC Tune-Up tool are available as a free download.
Verizon (NYSE:VZ) has announced new features to its Verizon Internet Security Suite (VISS) that will boost productivity and safety. Fraud protection and a PC Tune-Up tool are available as a free download for VISS subscribers.
The new fraud protection feature shields Internet users from phishing, proactively alerts them when they attempt to access fraudulent Web sites, and provides a list of fraudulent Web sites that is constantly updated. The PC Tune-Up Tool offers disk defragmentation to speed up access to files and programs, and drive cleanup. VISS also features content management, which enables small businesses to increase employee productivity by controlling Internet use.
"Now reaching epidemic proportions, phishing attacks continue to increase in number year over year, costing Americans billions of dollars," Bill Heilig, vice president of Verizon Broadband Solutions, said in a statement. "Verizon offers a safer experience online by providing consumers with more ways to shield themselves from these attacks."
