Vignette Boosts Web Site Performance

New software tracks site changes and automatically updates cache.

Vignette (NASDAQ:VIGN) has unveiled its new High-Performance Delivery (HPD) software for Web sites, featuring caching technology that automatically tracks dependencies on publishing events or site changes and immediately updates a Web site cache when changes occur.

Vignette HPD helps ensure content changes across multiple Web pages are uniformly updated and available to site visitors in real time, reducing maintenance costs and errors. Easy to deploy and manage, it has been shown to improve performance in a variety of conditions. For example, in in-house tests, when 80 percent of a site’s Web pages were cached, HPD provided a 450-500 percent improvement in peak sustainable throughput versus a site not running HPD.

"Some of the world’s most well-known brands rely on Vignette to help them deliver personal, social and multi-channel Web experiences to their key audiences," Mike Aviles, president and CEO of Vignette, said in a statement.
