The PalmSecure PC Log-In Kit includes an authentication sensor.
Fujitsu Computer Products of America has unveiled a new biometric authentication solution designed and priced for small and midsize businesses. The new PalmSecure PC Log-In Kit includes the PalmSecure authentication sensor embedded in a PC mouse, and OmniPass Windows Log-in and Single Sign-On software that eliminates having to remember passwords for entry into Windows sessions and applications.
Available in June, the PalmSecure generates a unique biometric template that is matched against pre-registered users' palm vein patterns. It contains an authentication algorithm that provides faster authentication speeds with a user guidance software, and greater tolerance for the distance and angle of the hand when it is placed over the device.
"For small and midsize businesses struggling with security procedures and challenging compliance issues, the need for a biometric device conducive to their work environment is vital," Joel Hagberg, vice president of marketing and business development for Fujitsu Computer Products of America, said in a statement.
