Fujitsu Launches Storage Appliance for SMBs
The UDS 2000 can be deployed with little technical expertise.
Fujitsu Computer Systems has unveiled its new unified storage appliance designed for small and midsize businesses. Powered by Fujitsu ETERNUS storage technology, the UDS 2000 is easy to deploy and manage with little technical expertise.
The new appliance features the Windows Unified Data Storage Server 2003, allowing both NAS file-level and iSCSI block-level data to be transferred over Ethernet networks. It also consolidates storage under a simple Microsoft Management Console and delivers up to 54 terabytes of storage.
"The UDS 2000 offers SMBs that have standardized on a Windows environment the opportunity to deploy a highly reliable, highly available, and economical unified storage solution powered by the very successful ETERNUS storage technology," Dave Egan, senior vice president of storage at Fujitsu, said in a statement.
