The OneStor SP1224s is a 2U 24-drive storage system based on 2.5-inch drives.
Xyratex (NASDAQ:XRTX) has introduced the second member of its OneStor Extensible Storage Platform (ESP) suite of products. The OneStor SP1224s is a 2U 24-drive storage system based on 2.5-inch drives. It consumes less power than standard 3.5-inch drives with double the performance density, making it ideal for transaction-intensive applications, such as virtualized environments.
The new system offers significant green storage benefits, allowing end users to reduce operating costs for system administration and energy requirements over the life of the product. The ESP portfolio's power efficient, recycle-oriented product designs feature individual-drive power control, enhanced power supply efficiency and advanced adaptive cooling to reduce energy consumption.
"As an OEM supplier, it's imperative that we anticipate market demands early so our customers are equipped with competitive products that meet rapidly evolving enterprise business requirements," Lisa Hart, vice president of marketing of networked storage solutions at Xyratex, said in a statement.
