Dell Releases Small Business Laptops

The new laptops are thinner, lighter and come with enhanced security features.

 

Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) has introduced its redesigned line of Vostro laptops for small business, including the new 13.3-inch Vostro 1310 and 15.4-inch 1510. The company will also launch a new 17-inch Vostro 1710 laptop in May.

The new laptops are thinner and lighter than previous generations and come equipped with enhanced security features and free services, including 10 gigabytes of Dell DataSafe Online Backup, Network Assistant and PC TuneUp. The 1310 and 1510 offer integrated fingerprint readers, a Trusted Platform Module for preventing unauthorized network access and data theft, and factory-installed McAfee Total Protection for Small Business security software.

"Customers told us in a recent global laptop study that data protection and pre-installed security software are, by far, the most important security features," Frank Muehleman, vice president and general manager of Dell Small and Medium Business, said in a statement. "They also said they wanted thinner and lighter machines, all at a good price."
