XO SIP Compliant With Cisco Smart Business

The service is now interoperable the Cisco Smart Business Communications System.

 

XO Communications' XO SIP service has passed interoperability tests with the Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO) Smart Business Communications System, a unified communications system designed for small businesses.

The Cisco solution offers small businesses a cost-effective, easy-to-manage unified communications system, eliminating multiple servers and combining voice, data, voicemail, automated attendant, video, security, and wireless capabilities. XO SIP is a fully integrated solution designed to support the most demanding voice and data applications at single or multiple locations. Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) uses a native IP-based facility to manage traffic between a customer's IP PBX system, the XO IP network, and the Public Switched Telephone Network, eliminating the need for multiple access facilities for voice and data services.

"XO Communications recognizes that businesses need to focus on running their business, not spend precious time and resources on their voice and data communications services," Nicola Jackson, director of IP and converged services at XO Communications, said in a statement. XO SIP's interoperability with the Cisco Smart Business Communications System allows businesses to capitalize on their investment by linking IP voice and data services with their PBX system, Jackson said.
