IBM Expands SMB Initiative

The program is designed to help smalle businesses access integrated business solutions.

IBM (NYSE:IBM) has expanded its program dedicated to helping small and midsize businesses access integrated business solutions. The company's Vertical Industry Program (VIP) addresses key IT requirements for small and midsize customers, such as the need for quick implementation, competitive pricing and ease of management.

The expanded program will support a broader range of hardware and software platforms, including IBM Power Systems, BladeCenter and System Storage. As a result, IBM Business Partners can take advantage of co-marketing activities, sales support and stronger connections with fellow partners in the same industry or local area to capitalize on being able to offer complementary solutions and locally based skills.

"IBM is committed to delivering innovative products and IT delivery capabilities to mid-sized clients. We've done extensive research into this market segment, and as a result we are bringing incredible value and flexibility to IBM partners and customers," Mark Shearer, vice president of marketing and offerings for IBM Business Systems, said in a statement.
