Linksys Introduces IBM CDP App
The easy-to-install software offers data protection from corruption or system failure.
Linksys, a division of Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO), has teamed up with IBM (NYSE:IBM) to incorporate IBM Tivoli Continuous Data Protection for Files software into the Linksys by Cisco small business solutions portfolio. Linksys by Cisco Continuous Data Protection for Files provides automatic data backup and restore functionality.
The easy-to-install integrated software offers data protection in case of corruption or system failure. Designed to automatically save files either instantaneously or at scheduled intervals, it will be available in three configurations capable of supporting three, 15 or 25 users. Once the software is loaded to the PC and mapped to the appropriate Network Attached Storage device, the user selects what files will be saved on a continuous or scheduled basis.
"Regardless of the size of the business, data storage, protection and security is incredibly important and should not be overlooked," David Tucker, vice president of Linksys Connected Office Business Organization, said in a statement. "Identifying the ideal data storage plan for any organization is an arduous task. The Linksys solution helps to remove that guesswork with a tested and proven solution, backed by a leading innovation from IBM, taking storage requirements off their plates so they can focus on their business."
