IBM Launches New Social Software
Lotus Quickr Content Integrator is the latest in the line of Lotus Quickr products.
IBM (NYSE:IBM) has introduced a new social application designed as an alternative to Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) SharePoint. Lotus Quickr Content Integrator is the latest in the line of Lotus Quickr products for managing and sharing information.
The new software is based on technology from CASAHL Technology. It helps companies migrate critical data from existing repositories into team places designed for collaboration. Through wizards and templates the software facilitates moving content from SharePoint sites, Microsoft Exchange folders, Lotus Domino Document Manager libraries and Lotus Domino teamroom applications into Lotus Quickr places.
"Content is king, and Lotus Quickr helps businesses share and use their data, regardless of where it was created," Jeff Schick, vice president of social networking at IBM Lotus Software, said in a statement.
