SAP NetWeaver Scales Up To 140 IBM BladeServers

The AnyPlace Checkout system offers small retailers a new brand-building tool.

 

SAP's (NYSE:SAP) NetWeaver Business Intelligence Accelerator has been tested for performance and scalability on IBM's (NYSE:IBM) BladeCenter servers and can reportedly now scale up to 140 BladeCenter servers, improving system response time and management of growing amounts of data.

The test rated index load time, average report and query throughput, average number of records touched per report, and average response time less than five seconds. It also included scalability measurements at 5, 15 and 25 terabytes of InfoCube data.

"This performance delivers an unprecedented 5x scalability improvement over previous IBM BladeCenter server configurations running SAP solutions based on real-world client environments," David Gelardi, vice president, of worldwide advanced client technology centers at IBM Systems & Technology Group, said in a statement. "As a result, our clients can now have increased flexibility and scalability to drive more value from their information assets and be more responsive to customer needs."
