IBM Upgrades Asset Management Solution

BUY A REPRINTIBM (NYSE:IBM) has released the latest version of its asset management solution, Maximo Asset Management 7.1. The enhanced software provides support for linear assets, improved asset lifecycle management, and maintenance management for a wider range of asset categories, including production, facilities and transportation.
The new release offers enhanced capabilities for work management, job plans, work order tracking, service requests and reporting. It also frees up IT departments to focus on other projects by reducing the number of systems required to manage enterprise assets.
An improved user interface makes it easy to configure, and efficient data migration capabilities offer a quicker and less expensive implementation process. The basic version, Maximo Asset Management Essentials, is ideal for small and midsize businesses.
"The additional IBM resources, in the form of developers, software engineers and industry experts, which we were able to add to the Maximo 7.1 development effort, meant delivering to our customers a more comprehensive offering, sooner," Bill Sawyer, vice president of Maximo Operations at IBM Tivoli Software, said in a statement.
