Trend Micro Launches E-Mail Encryption Solution
The new solution offers automated policy-based encryption for e-mails.
Trend Micro (NASDAQ:TMIC) has introduced its first e-mail encryption solution. Trend Micro E-mail Encryption Client 5.0 and e-mail encryption for InterScan Messaging Hosted Security (IMHS) offers encryption of messages to any valid e-mail address without recipient pre-registration or the need for certificate management.
Integrated with IMHS, the new solution provides automated, policy-based encryption for e-mails filtered through the company's hosted e-mail security. Trend Micro also offers E-mail Encryption Client 5.0 plug-in software for users who require maximum security. These hosted and client encryption solutions can be combined to provide an overall solution, including perimeter, policy-based encryption to automate the encryption of particular types of user-designated content.
"Businesses require secure e-mail encryption solutions that include privacy and help them comply with regulations, but at a low administrative overhead," Punit Minocha, vice-president of business development for Trend Micro, said in a statement. "We are delighted to offer our customers the security and ease-of-use that Identity-Based Encryption provides, combined with our in-the-cloud key management. This initial solution is a solid foundation for future expanded encryption offerings."
