Facebook Gets Down to Business
Many small-business owners might want to rethink their office Facebook-ban. The Visa Business Network, launched this week on Facebook, allows businesses to build visibility and rub virtual elbows with one another. By signing up for the network and registering their own pages, companies can link with other businesses through a process similar to "friending" on Facebook.
The free service also gives members access to Web-based software like Google Docs and Google Calendar, facilitating idea-swapping and keeping employees up-to date. In addition, members can check out expert columns, news feeds, Q&As and other business-related content through partnerships with media outlets like The Wall Street Journal and Fast Company. A star-rating system allows readers to rank content.
