Following this summer's industry layoffs, disrupted schedules and added passenger fees, any positive news about airline travel is especially welcome. To encourage its frequent business travelers to bring friends or family along for their next trip, British Airways is offering a free companion ticket to any Executive Club member who books and flies on the airline before the end of the year.

To qualify for the offer, travelers must book a flight for this fall and schedule a second trip for any time during 2009. The second flight includes a complimentary ticket for all flights originating in North America and booked during the first half of 2009.

Go to http://www.britishairways.com/travel/eccompanion/public/en_us to register for the offer or sign up for the British Airways Executive Club.

New Web Conferencing Tool

iLinc is planning to unveil an update to its web conferencing software at this year's Internet Telephony Conference and Expo West in Los Angeles next week. iLinc 10 will feature a new design, an administrative center and integrated audio conferencing options.

Users of iLinc 10 will be able to choose between tabs designated for private and public conversations, as well as configure their computer-based microphones into a conference call. Meanwhile, iLinc's web-based Session Management System features capabilities for recording and managing live training sessions. The program also includes upgrades to Green Meter, a system that measures the total cost and environmental savings generated by a virtual conference. Users can also customize variables to match the organization's own policies.

Frank Gartland, iLinc's vice president of product and technology, will be a feature speaker at the conference, which takes place on Sept. 16-18. Find out more at http://www.tmcnet.com/voip/conference/west-08/w08-registration.aspx.
