The Small Business Administration has launched a new 30-minute online tutorial to encourage business owners to reach out to buyers abroad. Global Enterprise: A Primer on Exporting offers tips on identifying global markets, developing an export strategy, orchestrating transnational payments, and financing trade operations. Through a combination of text and audio, it also gives general advice on determining a company's suitability for exporting.
The SBA has also partnered with the Commerce Department and the Export-Import Bank to offer personalized services through U.S. Export Assistance Centers. The centers are located in metropolitan areas around the country. For more information on locations, go here.
Netgear announced this week a new network-attached backup system for small businesses. The Ready NAS Pro can accommodate the storage needs of up to 200 users, and is available in 1.5TB, 3TB and 6TB.
Including several disk trays, the ReadyNAS Pro can support up to six hard drives. External drives, printers or battery backup devices can be attached to three available USB drives. Users across a network can store and share data, whether they are operating on Windows, Macintosh or Linux platforms.

Washington-based SCORE, a nonprofit small-business resource organization, is offering a new podcast series for small-business owners and beginning entrepreneurs. The bimonthly broadcasts will feature both SCORE representatives and outside experts, and will address topics like branding, solo entrepreneurship, sales growth and franchising.
The first two podcasts are available at www.score.org and www.score.org/women, and offer tips on marketing your business in a weaker economy and how to get more done in less time. As future podcasts are added, previous broadcasts will be archived on both sites.
