Women business leaders are remaining optimistic in the face of the nation’s growing economic crisis, a recent survey finds.

Nearly 60 percent of 160 members of the Women Presidents’ Organization, a New York-based group of multi-million dollar business owners and CEOs, said they expect revenue to grow in 2009. Almost half said they don’t anticipate any difficulty accessing credit to grow their companies.

"As women have successfully built their businesses, they have been faced with many challenges," Marsha Firestone, the group's president, said in a statement. "Their optimistic outlook, in conjunction with their business savvy, has been essential to their success," she said.

The survey also found that 54 percent of women business leaders are focusing on broadening their product offerings in 2009, with another 13 percent planning to open international offices in the coming year.

Only 19 percent of survey respondents said they expect to reduce their workforce next year, while 13 percent are anticipating reductions or eliminations in employee benefits.

The survey was conducted by The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, a New Jersey-based insurance provider.
