Owners and Contracting Officers Meet in California
Nov. 3, 2006 -- A conference today in San Diego, Calif., is seeking to help small businesses and disabled veteran business enterprises have better access to state and local government contracts, organizers said.
The event brings owners together with more than 40 contracting officers from state departments, local governments, and universities, and also includes workshops, presentations, and one-on-one meetings.
In a keynote addresss, Rosario Marin, California's secretary of state and consumer services, called small business the backbone of the state's economy.
