Consumer Confidence Down

Nov. 28, 2006 -- Consumer confidence dropped further in November following declines the previous month, the Conference Board reported on Tuesday.

The New York-based private research group's monthly consumer-confidence index edged down to 102.9 from 105.1 in October, the report said.

The declines were blamed on a "tighter labor market and a more guarded short-term outlook," Lynn Franco, director of the group's research center, said in a statement.
