Jobless Claims Rise
Nov. 22, 2006 -- The number of claims for unemployment benefits rose by 12,000 last week to 321,000, the Labor Department reported Wednesday.
In the week ending Nov.11, the seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.9 percent, the report said.
The most new claims last week were in Mississippi, California, and Massachusetts, while the largest decreases were in Kentucky, Illinois, and Pennsylvania, the report said.
