Service Sector Grows

 

Nov. 3, 2006 -- Growth in the service sector increased at a faster pace in October, the Institute of Supply Management reported today.

The ISM non-manufacturing index rose to 57.1 from 52.9 in September, the report said.

The monthly index is based on a national survey of supply and purchasing managers.

Top performing industries last month included utilities, information, retail, and finance and insurance.
