Dec. 8, 2006 -- Nonfarm payrolls increased by 132,000 in November, a faster pace than the previous month, the Labor Department reported on Friday.
While job growth continued in the service sector, led by professional and business services, food, and health care, there were fewer jobs in construction and manufacturing, the report said.
The unemployment rate remained steady at 4.5 percent, up slightly from 4.4 percent in October, the report said.
