Housing Starts Rebound
Dec. 19, 2006 -- New residential construction surged by 6.7 percent in November after falling by 14 percent the previous month, the Commerce Department reported Tuesday.
At the same, housing permits for projects in the months ahead fell 3 percent and were down 31.3 percent from November 2005, the report said.
Despite the gains, housing starts were also down, by 25.5 percent, over the past year, the report said.
