Jan. 3, 2007 -- Spending on construction projects dropped by 0.2 percent in November to $1.18 billion, the Commerce Department said Wednesday.
The declines were driven by a 1.6 percent decrease in spending on private housing projects, the report said.
Despite the recent downturn, total construction spending in November was up 0.1 percent from the same period last year, the report said.
