Feb. 16, 2007 -- Sales at U.S online retailers rose by 6.3 percent to $29.3 billion over the fourth quarter of 2006, the Commerce Department reported Friday.
By contrast, total retail sales over the quarter fell 0.2 percent to $990.8 billion, the report said.
Online retail sales were up 24.6 percent from the fourth quarter of 2005, while total online retail sales for the year rose 23.5 percent from 2005 to $108.7 billion, the report said.
