March 28, 2007 -- The Boston University School of Management has created a new department to focus on cutting-edge entrepreneurship, the school announced Wednesday.
The Institute for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization, or ITEC, will target entrepreneurs interested in the technologies, products, and services that address health care, life sciences, alternative energy, and other fields, the school said.
It will be open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
The department will make use of resources from throughout the university, including from the Medical School, School of Public Health, the Law School and the College of Engineering.
"We're creating a unique channel for entrepreneurial sharing of both education and resources," Jonathan Rosen, the department's executive director, said in a statement. "ITEC is committed to enhancing entrepreneurial education and stimulating the development of viable new businesses dedicated to better serving communities around the world."
