Factory Orders Weaker Than Expected
April 4, 2007 -- Factory orders in February rose by 1 percent, a downward revision from a preliminary report last week, the Commerce Department said Wednesday.
New orders for durable goods, which were initially reported to have grown by 2.5 percent, were revised down to 1.7 percent, including sharper declines for primary metals, machinery, and electrical equipment, the agency said.
New orders for non-durable goods grew by 0.2 percent, the agency said.
