Producer Prices Up in March

 

April 13, 2007 -- Rising gas prices lifted manufacturing costs by 1 percent in March, the Labor Department reported Friday.

Excluding volatile energy and food prices, core producer prices were unchanged from the previous month, the report said. Gas prices alone rose by 8.7 percent from February, while bad weather and rising grain prices led to higher food prices.
