Most Employees Eager to Volunteer
April 16, 2007 -- Businesses that encourage volunteering among employees may have an upper hand in recruiting, new research shows.
In a recent online survey of 1,000 job-seekers by Deloitte & Touche, nearly two-thirds said they would prefer to work for companies that gave them opportunities to contribute to nonprofits and other community organizations.
Four out of five respondents identified themselves as volunteers in the survey, and nearly all said they believe companies should offer more opportunities to volunteer work-related skills.
