SBA: Review Disaster Plans
With storm experts warning of another active hurricane season, the Small Business Administration is urging small-business owners to prepare for the worst.
"Every threat, form wind storms, floods, and wildfires, to power outages and computer system failures remind us to be proactive when it comes to having a plan to survive the disaster and recover quickly," SBA administrator Steven Preston said in a statement.
The agency recommends all businesses put in place an emergency response plan, including escape routes and employee contact data. They should also ensure insurance policies are adequate for all potential risks, and that important business data and records are backed up and accessible in an offsite location.
