Inc. 500 Shipper and Logistics Firm Merge
ICAT Logistics, a Linthicum, Md.-based transportation logistics and freight services firm, has merged with Milwaukee-based Logistics Management, the companies announced Wednesday.
Under the ICAT corporate name, the combined companies will provide asset management and specialized freight delivery services, including charters and heavy weight shipments. It will also develop a Web-based application allowing customers to view the status of outsourced inventory and request shipping services directly from their desktops.
"ICAT is one of the rising starts in the non-asset-based logistics business," Jim Weatherly, president and CEO of Logistics Management, said in a statement. "They are growing rapidly and have really been able to identify how to reach critical logistics markets such as trade shows, asset management, super-hot expedited freight and charter delivery."
ICAT Logistics ranked No. 352 in the 2006 Inc. 500 list of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. It was the second consecutive year that the company appeared on the list.
