House Takes Up Regulatory Relief Bill
House lawmakers this week are expected to take up legislation requiring federal agencies to review the impact of regulations on the nation's small businesses.
The Small Business Administration Entrepreneurial Development Programs Act, which was approved by the House Small Business Committee last month, would also boost funding for various federal small-business initiatives, including grants for Small Business Development Centers to help small employers identify health insurance options.
According to the SBA Office of Advocacy, regulatory costs for small businesses nationwide have increased by 10 percent per employee in recent years.
A vote on the bill is expected early this week.
