IRS Forum on Foreign Workers
The IRS will host a conference call for small-business owners about the payroll and legal issues that come with employing foreign workers, organizers said this week.
The Payroll and Foreign Workers National Phone Forum will explain the various employment and tax laws that apply to immigrants and aliens. Topics to be discussed include visas, the difference between resident and non-resident aliens, the withholding process for income and Social Security taxes, and W-4 rules. Participants will be able to ask questions after the presentation.
There will be three sessions of the forum at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. EDT on Aug. 15. For more information, visit www.irs.gov/businesses/small/index.html.
