Most people who work for small businesses greatly enjoy their jobs and have commutes of 20 minutes or less, according to a new survey by Durham, N.C.-based online communications firm iContact.

The survey of more than 1,000 small-business employees found that 75 percent would rate their job 8 or higher in terms of job satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 10. Less than 3 percent gave their job a rating of 3 or less.

In addition, 70 percent spend 20 minutes or less commuting to work. Women have a shorter commute time than men, with 68 percent spending 10 minutes or less on the road. Women are also more likely to work from home.

While most small-business employees work between 40 and 60 hours each week, the survey also found men work longer hours. Almost 50 percent of men said they work 51 or more hours a week, compared to 29 percent of women.
