Microsoft Releases .NET Micro Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1
Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) this week announced the availability of Service Pack 1 (SP1) for the Microsoft .NET Micro Framework 2.0, featuring new tools that streamline the manufacturing process and simplify deployment of updates to devices in the field.
SP1s enhancements aim to help developers and device-makers build more secure, attractive, innovative, and globalized applications. Original equipment manufacturers and original device manufacturers can use SP1s new tools to create customized deployment software for specific manufacturing environments.
SP1 also helps prevent unsigned firmware or application code from being installed on a device. An additional feature is the ability to generate bitmap fonts for applications, giving application developers increased flexibility in interface design and providing increased localization support.
