Polycom Announces New Wireless Server
Polycom (NASDAQ:PLCM) has launched its KIRK Wireless Server 600v3 in the North American Market.
The new server, which provides highly secure mobile voice service for the workplace, connects to SIP-based IP-PBX systems. Polycom also launched a new general office handset, the KIRK 5020, with its lightweight form factor and color display.
The new server can support up to 35 users with the flexibility to expand, while the integrated server/base-station design provides cost-effective deployment over a secure 1.9 GHz wireless signal.
The new server is also the first DECT system to achieve certification for support of Session Initial Protocol (SIP) via the Digium Asterisk IP telephony solution, ensuring compatibility with Asterisk Business Edition.
