IBM To Open Dallas Innovation Center
IBM (NYSE:IBM) has launched an IBM Innovation Center in Dallas. Intended to help start-ups, software developers, and independent software vendors build new open-platform software and hardware applications and services, it will provide technical support, and research and development expertise.
The Innovation Center will assist local and foreign companies in realizing projects using such technologies as System z, Cell Broadband Engine and Service Oriented Architecture. It will also sponsor workshops, best practices, and networking events for local companies. Businesses around the world will be able to access the new center's resources via IBM's enhanced global integration network.
Dallas was chosen for the new center because of it fast-growing technology sector. With this center, IBM now hosts a network of 35 Innovation Centers worldwide.
