Qwest Launches Customer Internet Protection Program
Qwest Communications International (NYSE:Q) has launched a program designed to help curtail the spread of viruses and malicious software on the Internet and to assist residential and small-business customers whose computers have already been infected.
Available at no additional charge, the Qwest Customer Internet Protection Program (CIPP) notifies Qwest Broadband customers of viruses and malware, and can help clean such infections from computers.
Viruses and malware can cause problems not only for individual customers, but also for the entire online community. The CIPP not only helps customers remove infections, but also provides information about better Internet security practices, as well as additional resources, such as downloadable or online anti-virus software.
