LSI Introduces iSCSI-based Storage System
LSI (NYSE:LSI) has launched its Simplicity iSCSI-based 1532 storage system, designed and priced for small and midsize businesses. The company now has iSCSI connectivity support across its entire line of Engenio external storage systems.
The 1532 offers a user-friendly IP SAN (storage area network over an IP network) solution for customers looking for an alternative to a Fibre Channel SAN as they transition from a DAS (direct attached storage) environment. Ideal for applications such as relational databases, Exchange, SQL Server, CRM, ERP, and e-commerce, this scalable storage system starts with a 2U 12-drive configuration and can be expanded to offer up to 36.0TB of storage.
Managed by Simplicity Storage Manager software, the 1532 supports data utilization and protection strategies, including storage partitioning, snapshot and volume copy.
